You can tell when someone (not just a search-engine spider) has looked at older blog posts because it triggers the comments section, which makes Discourse create a topic for it. They’re unlisted, but they show up in RSS (and email, I think).
And by “fun” I mean kinda annoying. I restricted the comments to only 2022 blog posts, so eventually they’ll all get created and the notifications will only happen for newly-created blog posts, as nature intended.
(It’s also kinda depressing to realize just how much of the site traffic is an endless stream of robots.)
